No cards held for remainder of December due to split between Houston and Dallas offices, triggered by multiple wrestlers' threat to strike at a televised San Antonio card on 12/10 unless they were paid talent fees for their TV appearances; as a result, wrestling is not seen that night on San Antonio's WOAI-TV, which airs a movie instead.

A lawsuit is filed on 12/29 against Ed McLemore, matchmaker Doc Sarpolis and KRLD-TV by Cyclone Anaya, Ray Gunkel, Billy Varga, Ricki Starr, Red Berry, Danny McShain, Gory Guerrero and Dory Funk Sr, claiming KRLD is televising their Dallas matches in violation of their contracts. Texas Wrestling Agency (Houston) announces NWA cards featuring McLemore's former crew to begin at Dallas nightclub Pappy's Showland in January; McLemore continues promoting at Sportatorium with non-NWA wrestlers, including a young rookie named Jack Adkisson (later known as Fritz Von Erich).
